For cable TV watchers, commercials are unavoidable. But some are more entertaining than others. And the TV remote is a convenient weapon against the bad ones.
Progressive Insurance currently has some of the worst ones running. It's as if they have consciously excluded men from the target audience and instead sought to alienate them. Take for example the commercial with the Motaur -- the creature that's half man and half motorcycle.
Who could have thought that was a way to sell insurance to men? Does it sell to women? Maybe, but it's doubtful.
It brings to mind the TV commercials of several decades ago about which the early feminists were up in arms because they were demeaning to women. Except now the roles are reversed. Imagine a commercial featuring a creature that's half woman and half vacuum cleaner. Now imagine the uproar.
You've come a long way, baby. The battle between the sexes is over. And males lost.

Motaur ! Absolutely the worst tv ad ever produced an automatic reach for the remote change channel ad !!
