So I was reading a review of a book about strange sightings, and one of the strange sights was a cat-fox in Corsica. I immediately thought of the cats and foxes who graze on the food I put out for the Fox Cam and wondered if they might procreate to make a cat-fox.
But no. The cat-fox is actually a rare feline called a Corsican wildcat by Wikipedia and is classified as a subspecies of an African wildcat.
It sounds like a good mouser, though. The local feral cats are getting plenty of nutrition from scraps left by humans, so any animal that would reduce the rodent squirrel population would be a welcome addition to the menagerie.
